Sacramento Speed Elite 12U NCTB USSSA Polar Bear Champions

Sacramento Speed workout at Cal Berkeley Prospect Camp

11/30/15

This weekend the Sacramento Speed Elite 12U played in the NCTB USSSA Polar Bear Classic at Mather. Speed pitchers came out on fire during game 1 against Hard 90 and pulled out a 3-0 victory in extra innings. Speed came out flat during game 2 and lost a close one to Best Speed 8-5 due to a couple of errors early in the game. Speed earned the #2 seed for Sunday bracket play. Speed played the always tough Admiral Baseball Club and pulled out an 11-10 win in extra inning with a walk-off bomb by Jaren Ekkleboom. In the championship Speed played Hard 90 and won 9-7 for the championship. Congrats to tournament MVP Jake Marr. That is four championship appearances for Speed Elite 12U this fall.

Speed Elite 14U and 13U continue to workout with the best during their off season this week at the University of Pacific trying out for the new exclusive Showcase program Show California. Speed players looked amazing all weekend and can tell “playing the best to be the best” is paying off.

This weekend the Sacramento Speed worked out at the Cal Berkeley Prospect Camp. This exclusive camp was ran by the Cal Berkeley baseball staff and allowed Speed to get a taste of baseball at the next level. This will be first of several collegiate events for Speed and our partners. Great job today boys.

Sacramento Speed Elite Spring 2016 Schedule Released

Sacramento Speed released their Spring 2016 schedule. Sacramento Speed will be playing in some of the top tournaments throughut the West Coast.

Spring Break Classic - Scottsdale, AZ
Baseball Nationals - Reno, NV

Sacramento Speed tryouts for 11U - 14U are Dec 13th at Margret Azevedo Park in Rocklin.

This weekend Sacramento Speed had three teams playing in the Open USSSA Championship at BLD/Ripon/Turlock- Speed Elite 12U, Elite 13U, and Elite 14U.
Teams overall went 7-4 for the weekend with one Championship game and two tough Semi-Finals.

Speed Elite 12U came out Saturday playing some amazing baseball going 1-1 beating the East Bay White 9-4 and losing a close one to Flyers Baseball 7-5. and earning the #3 seed for Sunday bracket play. Speed stayed hot in their quarterfinal game beating the Flyers Baseball. In the semifinal Speed faced AP Baseball and pulled off a 7-5 win with amazing pitching and hitting by the team. In the Championship,  Speed 12U lost to East Bay Squad, but came home with some hardware.

Speed Elite 13U went 1-1 with a tough 5-2 win over Golden Spikes. Speed came out on Sunday and faced the tough Mavericks Baseball but with amazing pitching and a clutch hitting Speed beat the Mavericks 5-2. Speed lost their semifinal game to Club All Star.

Speed Elite 14U went 2-0 on Saturday and earned the #2 seed scoring 23 runs and gave up only 4. In Sunday's semifinal game Speed could not find the strike zone and lost 12-7.

Overall another amazing weekend for the Speed organization playing in some of the toughest tournaments in Northern California.

Sacramento Speed dominate at USSSA Election Classic

This weekend Sacramento Speed had two teams playing in the Open USSSA Election Classic at Mather - Speed Elite 12U, Elite 13U, and Premier 14U playing in the USSSA Rivercity Classic in Sacramento. Teams overall went 6-4 for the weekend with one Championship game and two tough Semi-Finals.

Speed Elite 12U came out Saturday playing some amazing baseball going 2-0 beating the Woodcreek Lobos White 9-3 and Redwood Cubs 13-3 and earning the #2 seed for Sunday bracket play. Speed stayed hot in their semifinal game beating the Sacramento Hornets 6-1. In the championship game Speed battled Woodcreek for 6 innings with great pitching by Troy Lehr but lost a close 3-0 game but came home this weekend with some hardware and seeing their hard work paying off. 

Speed Elite 13U brought their gloves and bats this weekend and went to work. Speed went 2-0 on Saturday defeating Admirals 5-3 and Pondo Patriots 9-0, with a 7 inning no hitter pitched by Ayden Popp and earning Speed the #1 seed. Speed came out Sunday and played a tough 7 inning game against the Elk Grove Longhorns being ahead then down then battling back again. Speed played amazing defense and had lots of huge offensive hits but lost a close one 6-4 and finished 3rd for the weekend.

Speed 14U Premiere played in their 4th open tournament of the season and continues to improve. Speed Premier came out on Saturday with a 11-3 win over the Nor Cal Scorpions and battled for 7 with the always tough Klutch in the second game but lost 6-3. Speed went into Sunday as the #2 seed. Speed played the Nor Cal Scorpions on Sunday for 7 innings in an double extra innings classic. Max Miller pitched 6 lights out innings keeping Speed in the game, but a couple late innings errors allowed Nor Cal to win in extra innings 8-7 and Speed finished 3rd for the weekend. Great job boys stepping up. 

Speed goes back to work and will prepare for their next upcoming events, Veteran Days Classic Nov. 14-15 to defend their championship from last year and the Fall Championships Nov. 21-22.

This past weekend Sacramento Speed had three teams playing in the Open Division USSSA Championships at Mather Sports Complex in Sacramento.

Sacramento Speed 14U Elite came out guns blazing winning their first two pool play games on Saturday, 11-2 vs Klutch and 10-2 vs AB Seals earning the #1 seed for Sunday's elimination games. In the semi-finals Speed faced Sac Chaos, a battle till the end with Kyren Paris hitting an in-the park home run. Then with bases loaded, Resse Mooney hit a walk-off bomb into the left field gap for the 4-3 win. Speed faced Klutch again in the Championship game. A big triple in the bottom of the 6th by Kyren Paris and a home run by Connor Chairpot cut Klutch's lead to 5-4, in the end Speed came in second with the 6-4 loss to Klutch in the 7th inning. It was a great weekend of amazing baseball for these boys and fun games to watch and be a part of.

Speed Elite 13U went 0-1-1 in pool play and tying Best Speed Hornets 2-2 on Saturday. Speed played the AB Lazers in their first Sunday elimination game and pulled out a 8-7 win in extra innings with a walk-off hit by Crew Nottingham. Speed played Redwood Cubs in the semifinals losing 7-2.

Speed Elite 12U went 1-1 in pool play on Saturday losing a nail biter 9-6 to the AP Baseball Club but came back and defeated the Redwood Cubs 8-6 with a home run by Anthony Canton. Speed started Sunday elimination play in the semifinal losing to the tournament champions Sac Hornets.

Next weekend Sacramento Speed Premier 14U will be playing in the RiverCity Classic in Davis.

Sacramento Speed Elite 14U Runner-Up at USSSA Championships

Sacramento Speed had three teams playing this past weekend at USSSA Harvest Classic at Big League Dreams in the Majors division. Speed Elite 14U went 2-0 during Saturday pool play giving up only 5 runs. Speed went into Sunday's bracket play as the 3rd seed and faced a tough Manteca Baseball Club. Both teams battled into extra innings with Speed losing 7-6 in the 9th inning. It was an instant ESPN Classic battle. Speed Elite 12U came out fighting Saturday and battled the always tough Club All Star but finished in a tough 6-1 lost. Speed 12U battled the rest of the weekend going 0-3 in their first Majors division tournament. Speed Elite 13U played in a tough division with Lamarinda. Top Flight, Club All Stars and Hard 90. Boy battled all weekend but ended the weekend 0-3. All teams played well and will use this weekend's experience to prepare for their next tournament.

Sacramento Speed dominate at All World King of the Dirt
 

Sacramento Speed had five teams playing this past Labor Day at the All World King of the Dirt Tournament in Reno, NV.  Speed teams combined for an 18-8-2 record for the weekend, coming home with two pieces of hardware (1 Championship and 1 Runner Up) and two semifinalists.  Congrats to all Speed teams on a very successful tournament.  Speed will now prepare for the Black Tie Bash Sept 19-20 and the Harvest Classic Sept 26-27.

Sacramento Speed Elite 16U win All World Backyard Blast
 

Sacramento Speed Elite 16U took the field this weekend to play in their first tournament as a Speed Elite team. Speed dominated Saturday play by defeating the Sonoma Thunder and the Sacramento Sports Center Cats to earn the #2 seed for Sunday. Speed's bats came out hot defeating the El Cerrito A's in the semifinals and continued in the championship game defeating the Nor Cal Prospects and ending the weekend 4-0 with a 10-2 win.

Great job boys and looking forward to seeing everyone in Reno.

Sacramento Speed Elite 13U Runner Up at the USSSA Cinco De Mayo Classic
 

Sacramento Speed Elite 13U played in the NCTB Cinco De Mayo Classic at  Mather field this weekend. Speed came out with bats hot on Saturday beating Chico Aces Blues 13-0 and Mill Valley Academy 7-0 to earn the #1 seed for Sunday. Speed played their local rivals the Sacramento Spartans in the semifinal game and pulled of a 9-1 victory. In the championship game Speed bats went silent and Speed lost to a good hitting Club All Star team 6-2.

 

This was Speed 7th championship game this year with Speed winning 5 championship this year all playing in the Open division.

The Sacramento Speed Elite 11U won their first championship this weekend playing in the USSSA Winter Showdown 11U Open Division. Speed started Saturday slow losing their first two games, but battled and came well prepared for Sunday re-bracket play. Speed played California Daredevils in the first game and came out with their bats hot!! Speed won 10-3 and prepared for their championship game against the always strong Headfirst Bercovich. With great pitching, defense and offense Speed Elite won their first championship 12-4. Congrats to all the boys!!!
 

Sacramento Speed Elite 13U played in the USSSA Winter 

Showdown 13U Open Division and went 1-0-1 on Saturday beating Club All-Stars 10-2 and tied the always tough Sacramento Capitals 6-6 to finish as the 3rd seed. On Sunday Speed played the Sacramento Capitals again in the quarterfinals and fell short 8-4.

Sacramento Speed  dominate Southern and Northern California during MLK Weekend
 

The Sacramento Speed Elite 12U team is Champions again winning the All World MLK Classic in Woodland.  The boys put together a strong weekend going 3-1 in pool play and advanced to Monday’s bracket play as the #3 seed.  In the semi-final Speed was matched against the #2 seed Hard 90 that went 3-0-1 over the weekend.  Hard 90 came ready to play putting up 3 runs in the top of the 1st but the boys stayed strong and plated 6 when they got there opportunity.  Speed went on to win 12 to 4 setting up the chance to avenge the only loss against the Solano Seminoles.  The boys came out strong and put the game away early winning 14 to 3 securing the championship and closing the door on a great weekend.  As a team the Speed average 12.3 runs per game and allowed 3.3 resulting in a +9 run differential.  Everyone contributed so choosing the MVP was difficult.  Congratulations to Zach Chamizo, JT Maloney and Chase Christopherson for being our tournament Co-MVP’s.  Zach finished the tournament with a .500 batting average going 8 for 16, JT led the team with 12 RBI’s that were timely while playing great defense and Chase was a beast on the mound and had 6 of his 7 tournament RBI’s in the championship game.  Great job boys and keep up the hard work!!

 

Sacramento Speed Elite 13U played in the MLK Dual Super NIT in Los Angeles this past weekend and went 3-0 during pool play. Speed Elite 13U put up a total of 37 runs in 3 games and secured the #1 seed for Monday bracket play. Speed Elite 13U won their semifinal game 10-0 over Bad Company but lost in the finals 6-4 to Play Hard.  

 

Sacramento Speed Premier 13U played at the All World MLK Classic in Woodland this past weekend. Speed Premier battled all four games but came up short against some good teams.

Sacramento Speed Dominate at the NCTB USSSA Polar Bear Classic @ Twin Creeks
 

Sacramento Speed 12u and 13u Elite played in the USSSA NCTB Polar Bear Classic this past weekend at Twin Creeks in Sunnyvale.

 

The Sacramento Speed 12U dominated pool play on Saturday going 2-0 beating Kali 9-0 and California Bulldogs 16-6 and earning the #3 seed for Sunday. In the semifinals Speed came out hitting and defeated the Headfirst Diablo Blackhawks and earned a trip to the championship. In the championship game after being down 2-0, Speed rallied to beat the Xtreme Xplosion 4-2. Speed 12U ended the season with a perfect 4-0 and scored 35 runs. Congrats to the tourney MVP, Ayden Popp.

 

The Sacramento Speed Elite 13U also dominated pool play on Saturday going 2-0, beating Bombers Baseball 20-0 and Headfirst Gamers 8-0 and earned the #1 seed for Sunday. In Sunday’s semifinal game Speed defeated Vortex 9-1 and earned a trip to the championship. In the championship game Speed 13U faced a tough San Jose Outlaws team and battled back and forth, but Speed rallied and won 5-3. This is Speed’s 3rd championship for the season playing in the 13U Open Division. Congrats to the tourney MVP, Kyle Taylor.

 

Both Speed Elite teams will now rest and practice during the month of Dec. Speed 13u Elite will be playing in Los Angeles MLK Weekend in the MLK Super NIT at Chino Hills BLD.

Sacramento Speed Elite 13U win NCTB Veteran's Day Classic

The Sacramento Speed Elite 12u and 13u took to Mather Field this weekend at the NCTB Veteran’s Day Classic. The Sacramento Speed Elite 13u had a rough day on Saturday going 0-2, but brought their lunch boxes on Sunday and went to work. On Sunday the Speed beat the Mill Valley Academy 13-1, Sacramento Baseball Club 11-2 and defeated the Golden Spikes Trojans in the championship 2-1. This is the Sacramento Speed 13U 2nd USSSA Championship this season. Speed Elite 12U went 1-1 on Sunday with their bats hot after a 21-1 victory on Sat. On Sunday Speed Elite 12u had a tough loss in bracket play to Outlaws Silver 4-3.ay to Outlaws Silver 4-3.
